There was no "Throwing the grenade". I am sure if he could he would but he realized the only way the cure would be in good hands was if he sacrificed himself so the young woman and boy could get away. The glass was breaking and he was running out of time. If he threw it it would just blow them all up but instead he charged further away from where the girl was hiding to protect her, the child and the cure. The butterfly was a symbol of his daughter. If you paid attention to his flash backs his daughter would always tell him to follow the butterfly. I believe there was one on the woman who had came and then he seen it on the glass. It also had to do with his belief in god. Once he seen it he took it as a sign and did all he could to protect the future of the human race. _________________ Join Reality Of It All!!!

at the end of the movie I was wondering if they would consider making another movie. Although, I'm not sure if there are anymore books after the original copy. _________________ Join Reality Of It All!!!
I liked the ending to tell you the truth. I thought it suited the the movie well, and maybe she got lucky and traveled during day, because Vermont isn't that far away from NYC where they were.
That would have been a disappointing ending. There's another where the big mutant stops banging his head against the glass and puts his hand on the window. He stops because the girl on the table was his wife. (Supposedly) _________________ Join Reality Of It All!!!
I liked the way the book ended. But then again, most of the movie gave the appearance of the filmmakers having almost entirely ignored the book _________________ I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves.
