Okay basically the Eurovision Song Contest is this big competition that happens every year between loads of European countries.
Loads of them go in then finalists are selected then they all compete and people from the other European countries vote.
And you can give other countries anything from 1 to 12 points each.
The country that wins it hosts the competition next year with an automatic spot.
And every year United Kingdom, France, Spain and Germany are guaranteed places.

Hehe it was good! I liked Greece's Entry! but poor UK though We really havent won it in ages!!!!!

the eurovision song contest is often being mentioned in the german channel dw-tv's pop-x-port so i might have heard some things about them, i think their whole continent-wide singing contest idea is kinda cool.

I agree bonedaddy... Its so political these days, its like all the related countries vote for each other. Its not really a music contest anymore. Its more of a political debate

It's so funny to watch though...It's never really been about music, it's been about entertaining...If the band/people have a good presence on stage people will like them thus make them vote for them, phone-in 'talent' shows are all about the presence and the look, it's got nothing to actually do with talent.

But still all the countries vote for each other and UK is always last every damn year. We havent won it since Bucks Fizz won. Bah. We suck!

I watched it all!!
I watch it every year since i was 12  and of course the point of the whole show is entertainment its not about music since audience can vote with sms  but there are some really good songs.it turned into gay parade during the years but I think its great cuz we can hear music from all parts of Europe.
and I was so happy when Dima won  .what do you guys think about his song ''believe''? |

i've been watching eurovision since i was 9 yrs old i loved most of the song this year some were stupid and some i won't even mention.
the Top 5 for me is: -
1)Believe Me By Dima Bilan
2)Qele Qele By Sirusho
3)Shady Lady By Ani Lorak
4)Disappear By No Angels
and
5)Secret Combination By kALOMIRA

I don`t find it funny at all. I find it like an insult to other Eurovision winners, who are/were great singers. Like ABBA, for example.
It`s not song contest anymore, it`s a comercial farse. Disgusts me.

I agree. What have we done to deserve nil points? well we didnt get nil this year but still joint last place kinda sucks. I did like Russia though and i liked the song that they did
