I would cancel History of Magic. I wouldn't be able to stand having a ghost as my teacher, let alone all the babbling he did.

maybe they should change the teacher? i mean, making the house elves do more work and still without paying them a thing, even if they like it, sounds kind of bad

^Ouch. Getting a little tense in here, isn't it? But I will agree that that was a rather tasteless thing to say about Dumbledore.
I would have to say that Astronomy is not all that useful. Divination, however, could be useful. I don't think you have to have the inner eye to predict someone's future. You wouldn't be able to make prophecies like Professor Trelawney, but not necessarily be unable to predict. There are muggle practices (such as palmistry and Tarot) that can sometimes accurately predict someone's future. If the person who is using the instruments is skilled, sometimes the predictions are more accurate than Professor Trelawney's.
And absolutely, under no circumstances, should History of Magic be cancelled. Without understanding our past, the same mistakes could be unwittingly made. However, they could be avoided if one studies things in hindsight. Therefore, keep the class. It's useful. Especially in a time of war. |

Yeah, History of Magic is exactly like our History classses in the Muggle World. Except the teacher makes it a boring subject.
