Which do you lyke better harry potter or twilight, for me its definitely harry potter. alot of people are abandoning harry potter of twilight! twilight is good but harry potter is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR better! its more moral interesting and unpredictable. it has big bombshells and mysteries and its so awesome words can not describe. twilight is pretty kool (especiialy for tue-love belivers lyke me) but not as good as harry potter. if you put the pros and cons together i think you'd find harry potter wins. twilight is good but harry potter is better.
welll thhattz my opinion whats yourz?

((sorri if this is in wrong section but i think this is the ony place it fits))

I haven't finished reading Twilight, yet... so I can only say that so farI like Harry potter way better. I'll elaborate more when I've finished redaing the book, since I'm keeping an open mind.

I don't know that people are abandoning hp...its just that hp is over and twilight is a living legend, so they're spending more time on it. makes sense. I've only read the firs twilight book...and I don't think it holds a candle to HP. I mean I liked it, and wanted to read the next one (though it was always out of the library), but not nearly as good.

oooo tought one.
i agree with arabella, noone i know who likes hp and twilight is abandoning hp, it's just that twilight is more recent and hp has ended so twilight is fresher in peoples minds at the moment.
anywaysssss
i realllllly like romance, so twilight is the perfect book for me. harry potter did have romance in it, but i foundmyself a little bored at some bits when they weren't doing any big adventure things thinking "maybe it's time to bring some romance back into the story." i didn't get that with twilight because it was just constantly romantic and stuff.
buuttt harry potter is just... the best. nothing could replace it for me.
but twilight still comes EXTREMELY close

I like the series, but it's over, and honestly there a ton of better authors than Rowling in my opinion as far as their writing skills. (Wow, I'm gonna get killed for saying that.)

Her story was great. She's got a nice imagination.. but her writing isn't the best, and I know plenty of writers who have captured my interest more than Rowling did.

i agree, rowling isn't that great an auther. don't get me wrong she is good, but not the best. she just has a very good imagination and can tell stories well.
but this is also the case with stephanie meyer, she says herself she doesn't think of herself as a writer, but more of a story teller.

Harry Potter is probably the only "kids book" or "young adult" type literature I've found I can get into, so I give it credit for that. Because of the genre I find it hard, for myself, to judge her writing. I'd like to see her do an adult novel to get a better idea of what she's capable of.

I could not get into Twilight at all. I really enjoy vampire literature and I don't mind new interpretations of the genre if they're done well, but it was just too far off what a 'vampire' is to me for me to enjoy it. (And romance just doesn't trip it for me to begin with).

I was able to get into HP - people asked me why, though. I hate the main character - AND Twilight too. Frankly I don't know why I like HP. But that doesn't mean I want to hate it all together.. never would have found PF if I did. ): But I do agree with the writing skills I guess. She probably should just write an adult novel, else my opinion comes back.

If you didn't like Twilight, try reading The Host. It's by Meyer too, anf from what I hear it's pretty good, though I have yet to read it.

Harry Potter, but Twilight is amazing.

And another thing, HP and Twilight are hardly even alike! They are both fantasy, okay, I get that, but what else connects the two together? Harry Potter vs Twilight is like Marilyn Manson vs Paris Hilton. It doesn't work.

no they don't really have anything in common at all, except the genre and the fan base.
it's wierd that so many people that liked hp like twilight considering how different they are.

In my opinion Twilight is just as good or maybe even a lil better. Doesnt mean Im leaving HP though. I still read HP just as much or maybe more because now that I have another series too I dont get tired of HP if that makes sense. But still its a tie

oo i really agree with that!! like for a while there i think not just me but everyone around me was getting sick of me constantly talking about hp. but then after twilight i was equally obsessed with another series so now i look more like a person who loves reading than a bit of a crazy nerd

I've been "obsessed" with HP longer, and so I'd have to say HP is better. It's longer for one and it's more adventure. but fyi I love Twilight too!

agreed.

Rowling has a brilliant imagination, but she is not the best author.

But then again, her books are classified as a fantasy/children book, so i guess, grammatically, that she is catering for kids as well as adults.
