Severus Snape was born on January 9, 1960 to Eileen Prince and Tobias Snape. Tobias was a muggle, making Snape a half-blood. He grew up on Spinner's End and his father might have been abusive.
Snape attended Hogwarts from 1971 to 1978 where he was sorted into Slytherin, as he had wanted to be.
He worked as a Potions master, despite wanting to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. He eventually had his chance in the fall of 1996 when Dumbledore assigned him to that position. Eventually he was made Headmaster in 1997 under the order of Voldemort.
Snape made the Unbreakable Vow with Narcisssa Malfoy, promising to help her protect Draco. This promise resulted in Snape killing Dumbledore with the Killing Curse. This was an act we later find out to be accepted by Dumbledore himself, as a poison was working through his body threatening to kill him, anyway.
His eyes are dark and his hair is black and often greasy. JKR said it was because Snape was not overly concerned with his apperance. He has a hooked nose and the Dark Mark on his arm.
He was consumed by the Dark Arts and that cost him his friendship with his best friend, Lily Evans, who he was secretly in love with. He often regretted his choice. He felt indirectly responsible for Lily's death. When she was killed he turned triator on Voldemort and joined the Order of the Phoenix. Dumbledore vouched for his innocence and he was abdicated of crimes during Voldemort's first reign.
Snape was considered a skilled wizard, who excelled at the Dark Arts and Potions. He was capable of Occlumency and Legilimency. His patronus was a doe.
Severus Snape died May 1, 1998 when Voldemort threw him to Nagini. Snape's last thoughts were of Lily, as he stared into Harry's similar eyes. _________________

its about my Severus....
thank you
i think that Severus was an extreamly brave man, who risked his life on a daily basis to help the order and save harry, even if it only was for the memory of his beloved Lily
even Harry praised him as the 'bravest man he ever knew' _________________ and so, The Fellowship of the Phoenix set off on their journey into the heart of Voldemordor

Snape's birth date makes him a Capricorn.

He actually matches some it fairly well. _________________ I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once. But by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog. ~ Dwight Schrute |

He was brave for what he did, and the fact that he kept his feelings for Lily so long is a bit redeeming.
Although, the way he 'loved' Lily was a bit more on the obsessive/creepy side that it was romantic in any way. He'd have made a great character in a gothic novel. _________________ I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once. it was a bit obsessive, more than anything because he refused to let it go even after she was dead
i mean, it was really good of him to show loyalty to that love and fight for it, but he should've let it go eventually and tried to move on, continue his life, just like he should've let go of many other stuff _________________

very brave, very sad and very talented yes...but he was an ass. Nasty is just the only word that seems to fit perfectly. You don't fail and torment a student just because you hate his dad, you just don't do that. and as I've said before, if he'd actually gotten to know Harry he'd see how much like his mum he was, and things could have been different. but no...he's mr. nasty pants. _________________

Snape reminds me very much of Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights. They both have that same pattern of abusing people who are innocent simply because the person is related to someone who did them wrong. Both act the way they do partly because of some unrequited love. I can even see similarities in their death scenes. I always loved Heathcliff as a character, so that's probably a big reason why I like Snape.

Even that could have been kind of sweet, never forgetting her. But he seemed to have that mindset that he wanted her, and wanted nobody else to have her. I think he really might have been ok with James and Harry dying if Voldemort had spared Lily, despite how terrible it would have been for her. _________________ I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. ^ thats what i have more of a problem with in the snape/lily relationship
i think its very romantic and sweet of snape to have loved her like that and to fight for his love, but the fact that he didnt care that her husband and son died as long as she lived proves that he didnt know her very well, i dont think he realizes she would've really hated him for it (if she would find out) and that there is the chance that she wouldnt have been able to live like that or be the same person
its a bit of a selfish and blind love, he doesnt know whats important for her _________________

I meant that you can write all the things about him... You could just say your fantasy with him... or what would you like to do when you meet Alan Rickman.

The Snape in my head when I read looks a lot different than Alan Rickman. Except I do picture him with the movie clothes. I'm not sure how Rowling intended him to be dressed, but I always see that cassock-type frock coat. (Actually, it's a nehru coat I guess) _________________ I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once. I also see him as more severe and angular looking, with longer, stringier hair. Though I do like when Alan turns his head quickly in the movies and his hair (wig) flies around his face Black hair fascinates me. _________________ I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. BUT.... would any other actor say "obviously" like Alan Rickman? I wouldn't trade him in for any other actor in the world. I can accept his age and everything else just to hear him say, "Obviously." _________________

Yeah, his voice is perfect. It makes me wonder if they had that in mind when casting. I think the wrong voice could have killed that character more easily than the appearance being off. (I now have a very amusing mental image of Gilbert Gottfried as Snape) _________________ I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once. bahahaha..... I just imagined Gilbert Gottfried saying "Obviously" and now I want to cling to Alan Rickman like never before, lmao.
I figure, sure he's older than the character, but so are most of the actors, older than they were meant to be. But he has the black greasy hair and the dark eyes. And his nose is passable, I suppose. I think that if they held out for the "perfect" actor they would have missed out on Alan Rickman, who is just so great, obviously. _________________
