Most likely it does not support a "gif" or the link is from a bad source.

GIFs are certainly supported. It depends on how big it is for the avatar. Check the file size, it cannot be more than 34 kilobytes.

Sorry to hear about your problem. The forums do support .gif avatars (many people have them). The current limits on avatars are:

Width: 100 pixels
Height: 100 pixels
Filesize: ~34KB

I would have thought that you would have received a more useful error if you surpassed any of these limits, but maybe not. Please verify if you're within these limitations so that we can figure out what to try next. Thanks!

ok sorry for the being late but i figured out that the file size was either high or the resolution did not meet the standards of the PF' Avatar rules, does anyone have idea how to edit the resolution but not make the gif, a still picture
