After the first task Harmony went to go tell Luna that she was sorry. “Hey Luna, I wanted to tell you that I’m sorry, and I brought you some pudding because I know you love your pudding,” said Harmony.
“Thanks for apologizing, and for the pudding,” said Luna.
“So do you forgive me,” asked Harmony.
“Well I’m in no position to pass off friends, so yes,” said Luna.
“Really that’s great, I really missed you, and people that are not your friends are really missing out,” said Harmony. Harmony and Luna spent the rest of the day talking. The next day, in potions class, the students had to create some sort of an antidote with a partner.
“So everyone get with a partner and begin making you antidote,” said Snape. Harmony knew exactly who she wanted as a partner. She walked up to him, without showing fear. Pansy just stared in awe at Harmony.
“Hey Draco, want to be my partner, since your really good in potions in all, I‘d figured you can help me,” said Harmony.
“Draco, your not seriously going to work with her right, because you’re working with me,” said Pansy.
“Well, umm…, she looks like she can use some help in this class because she’s not that good at making potions,” said Draco.
“So are you my partner or not,” asked Harmony.
“Sure, Pansy I can work with you some other time,” said Draco.
“What Draco, but who am I going to work with,” said Pansy.
“I don’t know, perhaps Crabbe or Goyle,” said Draco as he headed toward where Harmony’s desk was. Harmony and Draco sat down and began to make the antidote.
“So Draco, how many eyes of newts do I have to put in,” said Harmony.
“You put in two, then mix it,” said Draco.
“Ok Draco, thanks you are so helpful,” said Harmony. Pansy passed by to get more ingredients from a shelf near where Draco and Harmony were. “Draco you are so smart, now I know why Pansy wanted to be your partner, wow and your hair is so blond, I want to touch it, may I,” said Harmony to make Pansy jealous.
“Sure, I guess if you want,” said Draco. Pansy walked by with her ingredients really angry. Draco and Harmony were the first one’s done with the antidote. “Well I guess that’s all,” said Draco.
“Yup, hey Draco I’ve been wanting to ask you if you maybe wanted to accompany me to the second task,” said Harmony.
“Why are you being nice all of a sudden,” asked Draco.
“Well I decided to forget the past, and live in the present, so will you come with me,” asked Harmony.
“Well Pansy invited me to go with her, but I always go with her so I guess… I’ll go with you,” said Draco. Pansy overheard them talking and approached them.
“Draco I thought you were going to go with me,” complained Pansy.
“I always go with you, so maybe just this once I’ll go with her,” said Draco.
“Do you realize what your doing Draco, your going on a date with a Gryffindor,” said Pansy angrily.
“It is not a date, were just friends,” said Draco.
“Oh so now your friends with a gryffindor,” said Pansy.
“Draco can be date whoever he wants, and he can be friends with whom ever he may like,” said Harmony. After the school day ended, all of the students went into their common rooms. When Draco entered the slytherin common room everyone was staring at him. He realized that most likely they were talking about him.
“Is it true Draco, that your friends with that Falkins girl, that stupid half-blood,” asked Blaise.
“Why are you guys making such a big deal about this,” asked Draco.
“Well because you always said that you would never become friends with a gryffindor,” said Goyle.
“Harmony is different she is not like the other gryffindors, seriously, I don’t know why she was put with the gryffindors,” said Draco.
“Draco, are you crushing on her or something,” asked Blaise.
“No, I just think she’s really cool, and I’m going to go with her to the second task, I don’t care what you guys say,” said Draco.
“But Draco I wanted you to go with me,” said Pansy.
“I’ll go with you some other time,” said Draco. All of the slytherin’s looked at Draco like if he was a different person. “What are you guys looking at, you know if you actually got to know Harmony, she is actually pretty cool,” said Draco.
The next couple of days it had been weird for Draco and Harmony. Rumors were being spread around of them. Most of the slytherin’s wouldn’t speak to Harmony. Most of the Gryffindors would not speak to Harmony. “That’s it I got to do something about this,” said Harmony one day while in the common room. “Fred, George do you guys think you can gather around all of the Gryffindors, because I have an announcement to make,” said Harmony.
“Sure,” said Fred and George. People gathered around Harmony. When finally all of the gryffindors were there Harmony began to talk.
“As you all know, there has been rumors going around, about me and Draco. That purposively we’re dating, or that we are best friends or something. But I just want this to be clear, that I am only being nice to Draco because I want to get Draco good. One of my dear friends in Ravenclaw told me that Draco had a crush on me. So I wanted to break his heart, crush him. Make him fall in love with me, then just hurt his feelings. So I do not love Draco, nor will I ever love him,“ said Harmony.
“That is great to hear, because Draco deserves to have his feelings hurt,” said Seamus Finnigan. After what Harmony said, all of the Gryffindors began talking to her again. Harmony felt kind of bad because she did not really want to hurt Draco’s feelings anymore. After she talked to Luna she decided that she was right and that she wasn’t going to go down so low. But now she did not know what to do. All of the gryffindors most likely want to see this happen. So she has to do it now, even though it was all a lie. She really did like Draco. She also enjoyed making Pansy jealous that day in Potions. She realized that their was going to be a couple more of those days to come. But just a couple, because then she will have to break it off.
It was the day of the second task and Harmony and Draco went together. “Harmony I need to talk to you in private, let‘s go through the secret passageway I found,” said Draco.
“Ok,” said Harmony. They left and went to the secret passageway. Once they finally arrived Draco began speaking.
“Listen, I am willing to give up anything for you, because the truth is that I have fallen for you Harmony, but I need to know what you feel for me,” said Draco.
“Draco, now is not the time, let’s just go back to watch the second task,” said Harmony.
“No I need to know now, so that I can know what I am going to do, because if you choose to be with me, it’s not going to be easy, but we’ll manage. But, if you choose to not be with me than I understand and I will see what happens, although it will be hard to find someone as special as you, so I think I would rather not be with anyone,” said Draco. Harmony felt bad for what was happening, having Draco confess his feelings for her like that. Harmony decided that it would be better to tell him now the truth. Than to wait and make the situation worse.
“Draco, I think it’s best that you stay with your own kind and I stay with mine. Listen, if I were to date you all of the gryffindors would hate me, the same goes for you with the slytherin’s. I had to fix the whole situation from last time, when you invited me here to the second task. I told all of the gryffindors that I was going to make you fall in love with me so that then I can crush your heart and hurt your feelings. I figured that I’d tell you this now before the situation got worse,” said Harmony.
“Wow, how can you stoop so low, I really do like you, and I was willing to do anything for you,” said Draco as his voice grew louder.
“It was never my intention to hurt you Draco,” said Harmony.
“I cannot believe you, the slytherin’s treated me the same way and I never would of done that to you. You were going to go through it weren’t you, answer me,” said Draco angrily.
“Well, if the I didn’t the gryffindors would of hate me,” said Harmony.
“Wow, and then you make me feel bad when you said I made you cried a couple of times, and I take my apology back, you are ugly. Pansy is way prettier than you, and you will never be as pretty as her,” said Draco.
“If your trying to hurt my feelings is not going to work because I don’t believe you. You just told me that you were willing to do anything for me not too long ago,” said Harmony.
“You suck at life. Why don’t you go kill yourself. We don’t need a person like you in this world,” said Draco realizing that he had gone too far. Harmony was crying, she could not help herself. Draco had really hurt her feelings this time. She didn’t even have a comeback or something smart to say to Draco. They both just stood there in silence, except for Harmony sobbing. Then Draco just walked out. The second task had ended, and so had Draco’s and Harmony’s friendship that they had going on for a couple of days.
