Tom and his younger sister were fighting. Their mother was tired of the fighting, and decided to punish them by making them stand on the same piece of newspaper in such a way that they couldn't touch each other.
How did she accomplish this? |
Pulled two pages apart and placed them more than an armslength away from eachother; each sibling stood on a different page. _________________

Nope, it says "same piece of newspaper." Meaning it was whole and one sheet.
And no, she didn't use any brutality, lol. _________________

I know the answer. Arabella, this one was in the riddle thread that we have in the RAvenclaw common room.
My original answer was close to FM's. I said that she ripped the piece of paper in half. It was the same piece of paper, just ripped in half. That wasn't the answer, though. I came up with an answer that was close to the right answer . . . _________________

You mean Zen's riddle?
The answer is in there.... Zen told us... I'll give you a hint before you start hunting for it...Among the options of Person, Place, or Thing... It's not a Person. _________________

See . . . I knew it was in our riddle thread. I ended up with answering that she made a make-shift wall between them that was too wide for them to reach around. Then some one piped up with the door. I couldn't believe that I didn't think of a door, but I was picturing a mother some hoe building a ghetto wall between her kids. Sometimes I disturb myself.
BTW Juli, I agree with Ravvy . . . Your sig rocks -- Even though I said BTW.
THis is a hard one. I couldn't figure it out. Even after looking at the answer, I still don't completely get it. I think it's because I'm tired, though. The wording of it is just throwing me for the loop.
My story whispers ancient lore;
The force at times my rings will hide.
I've sixty minions, maybe more:
Those unseen, these by my side.
Wand'ring far from glowing light,
Shape-shifting puzzles curious eyes;
Oft my glorious rings shine bright,
While men debate my family's size.
My aspect seems to wax and wane,
As the force dictates the deed;
My namesake ruled vast fields of grain,
But, legends tell, devoured his seed.
This one is good.
Boudreaux, a master dartsman, was bragging to his bar mates that he was such a consummate player, he could hit the dartboard in any location at will.
"I'll wager a hundred dollars that, no matter what position you name on the board, I'll be able to hit it."
Thibedeaux, tired of Boudreaux's windbaggery, shouted out an answer.
Boudreaux stammered for a few moments and at first refused to pay. The other bar patrons, however, made sure he held up his end of the wager. Boudreaux slammed a hundred dollar bill on the counter and stormed out.
Where on the dartboard did Thibedeaux suggest? _________________
