Okay, let's say that in the first movie, her hair is somewhat...untidy? and very brown, yeah I agree now they made it blonde...almost blonde,I mean

her hair is naturally blonde tho.

it's called hair dye! you'd think for the sake of the movies they would make it brown.

I think Hermione's hair has to be brown cause that makes Hermione to... Hermione. Hermione is not blond, she has untidy, brown hair. Blond would make her odd.

yeh i no that but i think she looks fine. everyone knows that she is hermione and isnt that all that matters. yes they could have dyed it a bit more but if they did it too dark she wouldnt look like herself.

ok well a) just because everyone knows she is hermione doesn't mean she doesn't have to look like hermione any more. you have to make an actor look like a character, you can't just say they that they are the character and tell everyone to just imagine that they look like them.
and b) she's not meant to look like emma watson in the movies, she's meant to look like hermione!!

sorry if i sound a bit angry when i say that, just the whole emma watson as hermione thing gets me a bit agitated sometimes.

I figured I'd mention this, just to see if anyone else agrees with me. Sometimes, while listening to Emma Watson talk (as Hermione), does it seem like she's speaking WAY too frigging fast? There are times I've had to run the movie back and replay it to catch what she's saying. I can't think of any specific scenes/lines right of the top of my head, but to me it was really noticeable in GoF and OotP. Anyone else notice this, or do I just hear slower than she talks? LOL

yeh she does talk kinda fast, but that's alot to do with the character i think. hermione's meant to talk quite fast i think, it says that alot in book 1.

no one denies that, but hermy sure isnt supposed to be that hot, and the real problem is her hair, they made her into a regular girl that spends quite a time fixing herself to be pretty

i dont think this is a bad thing at all, but it just isnt hermione

it kind of is a bad thing. they've completely changed the character. hermione really shouldn't care that much about her hair, it should be bushy and brown.
sure it isn't the biggest problem with the hp films, but you'd think they would at least be consistant with the characters and what they look like.

^ lol i was trying to say that it wasnt a bad thing that emma as a girl wanted to fix herself to be pretty, most girls do that

but yeah i agree, its wrong because that doesnt become hermy

A lot have said she looks too pretty or something.. but she should become prettier through the years.. that was also the case in the book.... But I do actually think Emma Watson plays Hermoine well . It is very logical that a lot of times you do not feel happy about how Hermoine is played or how she looks. But often it is just how you have interperted it. Everyone does that differently. Also someone said she shouldnt care so much about her hair.my reaction; we havent seen her doing anything with her hair, it just appears to sit perfectly all the time.. But in nearly every movie you will see that everyones hair is always perfect, even if they just got out of bed..

Hermione Granger is supposed to be portrayed as a clever girl with wild, unruly, bushy hair. Average. Under the radar as far as looks go. I believe JK was going for the element of surprise in book 4 when she all of a sudden emerged as a beautiful young lady. However, as her hair was straightened in PoA and she never even had buck teeth to begin with, the effect was no where near the same.

You are right, but she is still a smart girl. But it is just difficult with the movies. As she does have to look matured a bit better too. But still be the same too. They just chose to choose one side extreme. Too bad that it is not the same as in the movies, but it gives a (I think nice) effect. Emma watson does have brown hair right?

This thread is funny.

Well guys... puberty tends to have that effect on women. They go from being kids to young ladies... the awkwardness just leaves after a while.

I like her and I think she is doing a fine job.
