For those of you that missed out and keep asking questions, I'll give you a summary. Everything started about 9am US Eastern time on April 1.
First, the top banner was changed to:
As mentioned many times, Rad Yek Nom is basically DarMonkey backwards (with keeping the words in order to make it slightly harder to see). This was hinted to by the banner being mirrored. Also, it is fairly common for rogue/hacker people to use messed up versions of website administrators names in their accounts.
I removed all Moderator abilities on the forums I was going to post in (The Leaky Cauldron, The Great Hall, Hogwarts Gallery, etc.). Then the user "Rad Yek Nom" because posting topics including:
Rad Yek Nom's Avatar:
"All your base are belong to us" is from an old, poorly translated video game. It was a big internet phenomenon about 6 years ago, especially in the gaming community. I know very little about "lolcat" or whatever, and any reference made to AYBABTU originated from the video game.
DarMonkey's username was changed to HACKEDbyRadYekNom. As different people confronted Rad Yek Nom, their usernames were changed...

All standard ranks (i.e. Muggle, First-Seventh Year, House images, etc.) were changed to the image below. Many people had two of these images right below their username in their posts.
This resulted in the Information about HACKED house topic.
The only person that had confirmation from me that this was a joke was Rorschach. Ror was the one that suggested an April Fool's Day prank on March 31, so he knew I was going to do something -- not necessarily what. When he arrived on April 1, he went along with everything and embellished some of the "hacking" going on.
By the afternoon, people kept posting that Rad Yek Nom was "DarMonkey backwards" and I had to keep deleting these posts. In order to try to keep the prank going, I enlisted the help of the DarMonkey account (at this point still HACKEDbyRadYekNom). DarMonkey came on and posted this apology. DarMonkey also attempted to make the Moderator Team believe this was real and that he was having major problems trying to ban Rad Yek Nom and take back control of the forums. Finally, at 5pm US Eastern time, DarMonkey announced that he had banned Rad Yek Nom and would have to restore the forums back to September 7, 2007 (among other things).
Overall, the reception of this prank has been fairly positive, although some are a bit upset. It may have gone too far, and I apologize to those that are unhappy with something that happened yesterday. Every change that was made was restored soon after 5pm US Eastern yesterday. No sigs, avatars, usernames, or normal posts were lost. I hope you all had a good April Fool's Day.

haha dar that was an excellent april fools prank. hahaha!!! at first i was terribly worried... i even pm-ed mike about it. he told me it might have been an april fool's joke and he pointed out to me that rad yek nom was a darmonkey anagram... my first thought was that you hacked your own site, but i thought it was really silly and "dar wouldnt do such a thing.."
