If they split when Ron leaves then I dont think Part I will have enough stuff in it and Part II will have to cram too much stuff in. The two parts are only suppose to be about 2 and 1/2 hours.

I'm thinking they will split the movie right after Godrics Hollow or possibly right after Ron comes back.

I think it would be the other way around.. I don't think tehre will be enough stuff if they wait too long to end the first film.

The first part will still have... Dursely's leaving, the 7 Potters, Hermione explaining Horcruxes, The Wedding (assuming they keep it in), Fleeing from the wedding, Grimmauld Place, Kreacher's story, Breaking into the Ministry, camping, the goblin's revenge, and finally, Ron leaving.

The second act would have, Godric's Hllow, The silver doe, Xeno, malfoy Manor, Gringott's, Aberforth's story, and the Battle. And teh battle itself has plenty of stuff in it.

Within all of those sections a lot goes on, There should be plenty of stuff in both Parts to go on.
If they end the film with Ron returning, it might be too saccharin sweet for an ending.
if teh end any time after that, it would be too awkward of an ending. Every film needs a beginning, middle and end. It can't be just a bunch of stuff happening, each part has to tell a story unto itself.

I think you have it perfect! and as the recap it will prolly be like wat they did with Xmen! it will be as a comercial type thing, either that or they will just jump straight into it. and the reason they have to wait bout 6 months is because they will have to do completely different previews and trailers, it takes a lot of effort to hype these things.... even though for this they really dont have to... its protocol. (my husband works in the entertainment business.) unfortunately its all bout contracts and protocol. it sucks!!!!! i cant wait to see how they do it. it better be much better than the first 5 movies!!!!!!

sorry ginny... but in this scene..i dont see him giving mirror... he never gave him the mirror..

in this scene he just tells him about the family tree and harry tells him that he fears he becoming like voldy.. nthing more...

he hugs him n hermione says its time to go...

thats it.. no mirror given.. no knife given either wich could open up the locks....

Yeah, I realized thatafter I posted and couldnt edit it. Itwas just such a perfectplace for him to give Harry the mirror... and they really dropped the ball. In the book thatis the spot where he does give harry the mirror, just before he leaves. I have no idea what made the film makers think they didn't need the mirror, when they had a scene and obviously time to in the movie to have the mirror exchange take place.

but then doesnt Harry look into the mirror and throw it across the room and shatter it after serius dies???? or was that just in the book? Im not a big fan of any of the movies so far. they just deviate way to much for my liking.... but i seriously thought they showed harry having the mirror after he died. and they really did drop the ball w the whole knife thing, i believe that comes up in later books!

They will end it at the climax I'm sure. Why? I'm sure movie 7 will kill at the box office. For those who have read the books, we are just the big fans that want to see the movies as well. Then there is the majority of people who are too lazy to read so they go and see the movies. They will go and see the 7th movie then be so excited about the next part they will not only see the movie ASAP, but my guess is many of those fans will purchase the book and read it. Accumulating JKR even more money. That's how I would market it anyways.

Sorry if someone already said this because it's such a long topic and I can't be bothered to read it all.

I think they will split it at the part when Xeno Lovegood says:" You mean the mark of the Deathly Hallows?" in his own chapter, because it would be kind of stupid to stop the 1st part of the movie about the Deathly Hallows if the people who didn't read the book don't even know what the Deathly Hallows are? Maybe if they change the name of the 1st part it can be split before the DHs are mentioned.

I think that they will spilt it where they enter malfoy manor, and draco has to identify them, it would be a good cliff hanger to leave it on. Plus this is quite central within the book.

sorry i was in a rush what i was trying to say was

earlier GinnyX said that the final battle would be a big bit in the film i think it will be but i don't think it will be as long as it was in the book because if you look at the final battle in OOTP book then look at it in the film the film cut nearly all of it out because in the book harry was left fighting Voldemort alone because every 1 else had been injured and the prophecy was smashed so Voldemort was going 2 kill him until the OOTP turned up so the battle might be smaller and not go on 4 a few hours like in the book
(obviously by a few hours i mean that time passes fast i mean would you watch a movie where the final battle lasted 3 n a half hours?

I'd honestly rather sit through 6 hours of watching HPDH if they didn't split it (I'm that in love) but I hope they split it at a suspenseful part if they do split it.

Wasn't there word of splitting at the part where Ron leaves the trio?

Ooh, i'll need to go back and look at my post... I think you may have taken it out of context beacues I think I compleetly agree with you. I don't think the battle itself will be long at all, beacuse although the battle lasts awhile, we dont' see much of it because we follow Harry's wanderings through Hogwarts.

There is a thread about this somewhere in our Great Hall. As of now, it's only a rumour.

I said...

Quote:

I was including everything that happens at Hogwarts during the battle...
The RoR
the Ravenclaw common room
RoR before the battle
Percy returns
Great Hall for battle assignments
kicking the slytherins out
RoR again for the diadem
Ron and Hermione's kiss
hunt for the diadem
fiendfyre
travellling through the battle field
Hagrid being carried off with the acromantulas
finding Voldemort
Snape's death
Snape's memories
Fred's death
Harry sseing everyone dead in the Great Hall
Harry going into the forest
Harry opening the snitch
harry facing down Voldemort
Harry at King's Cross
Narcissa faking Harry's death
Hagrid carrying Harry back to Hogwarts
The DE's facing the Order
Neville slicing up Nagini
The battle continues as Harry slips away
Harry sees all those peopple continuing fighting
Molly vs. Bellatrix
Harry reveals he isn't really dead
Harry and Voldemort circle each other
Harry beats Voldemort,

Now, of course not everything will be in the movie... but there is a lot of stuff for the film makers to choose from.

they did show Percy helping to capture the trio plus neville ginny and luna at the end of ootp though. which must have been confusing for just the fans of movies. they didn't explain it at all. just...here he is with the baddies. we'll have to see if they mention it at all in HBP.
