I know Harry ditched Ginny for her own good. But I still think he should ask her to take him back again, PROPERLY.
He must tell her his true feeling about her, how he could only think of her inexplicably right before he died and the feel of her kiss. He must be true to himself as well as Ginny, not just take everything for granted.
Just because he's a hero doesn't mean that he can take any beautiful diehard fan he wants as his girlfriend.
What do you guys think?

i dont think so cause it was clear that the only reason that harry was "breaking up" with her was because he had to go do his bussiness
harry told her that those three weeks with her had been like the best of his life, so good that they didnt even seem to belong to his life, i personally felt that as a declaration
it was silently decided by them that when the war was over they would end up together _________________

Yeah, I also agree that it wasn`t necessary something to explain.... Everybody knew this reason why Harry did it so and it seems Ginny understood it in a moment, she wasn`t angry.... |

Rowling is saving that for "Harry Potter and the Balance of Earth". _________________

But it would be great to tell Ginny. She would be touched. At least she knew she did the right thing. It seems that she knew what lied ahead of Harry. She knew Harry would die alone without anyone holding his hand. All he could have was just a good memory of their kissing. I even suspect Harry knew he's somehow connected to Voldemort's life and he had to die too. Why did he imagine that Ginny would marry some tall stranger in the future but not himself after Voldemort died?
What a desolated scene! I was so impressed. No wonder why J.K. Rowling said she cried and cried after she finished writing this chapter. |

I understand what your saying
Sure, it was obvious and all, but a proper asking of her back out would have been romantic |

| And the most important thing is that Harry shouldn't keep that as a secret from Ginny. To reveal your true feeling to your lover is not something embarrassing but a very noble thing to do. |

im sure harry told her all that stuff later, but then again a lot of things had to be left out or the book would've been eternal
the story isnt about harry/ginny ship, its about a war, so the end of the war was written and everything, so i think its ok, i didnt miss the harry/ginny moment _________________

Harry isn't a very good boyfriend. Dan's probably upset that people will think he's as sucky conserning women as Harry is. _________________

We don't know that Harry didn't ask Ginny back out properly.
Personally, I imagine a wonderful reunion between the two of them. _________________

I see what he means. Harry isn't a very romantic type. But not every girl's prince charming must be someone like Cedric, handsome, knew lots of fancy stuff, knew how to snog a girl and fool around.
Those boys only after 1 thing, sex!!! Once they get you laid, then disappear forever.
Harry is a rather down to earth type. He ditched Ginny for her own good. He tried to protect Ginny and all other people by scarifying himself.
He's brave and well-mannered. He stood up for friends. And I think it is good enough for many girls. |

Yeah! And I bet he is an extremely good husband and father. He longed to have a family so much and once when he had his own, he treasured it and guarded it with his life.
Among their old classmates, he and Ginny must be the first pair to get married. James seemed to be the oldest of all those kids.
I read the last chapter again and again. How I like the way he talked to James and Albus. James was so annoying. Even Ginny couldn't bear him and gave him a look but Harry just said he liked to have a real laugh.
He was really tender to Albus when he comforted him about the sorting thing.
I won't put my money on Ron or anyone, but I bet Harry would be a very faithful and loyal husband. |

yeah thats anohter thing too, its impossible to add every little detail, i dont think this one was that important, specially if we dont get details on particularly important deaths _________________

I agree. I think the very fact that they were together in the epilogue was enough for us to know that they did have a reconciliation. And there is no doubt in my mind that they talked about his near death at some point in their long, happy life together. _________________

^ the reconciliation might have not even been necesary, look at what happened in harry's bday, it was very implicit that if it werent for the war and the huge thing harry had to do (which gin im sure suspected) he would choose a hundred time to be with her _________________

I agree. As much as we would have loved to see it, it wasn't necassary to the story. It was inevitable that it would happen, so it wasn't something needed. Plus, JKR ended the story with the trio looking towards a better future. Then it jumps ahead to their brighter future. Sticking a random H/G moment in there would have wrecked the flow. _________________

Rowling didn't say Ron and Hermione had sex. So I can picture them never have sex. They get their baby from test tubes! |
