I saw it today! Well.. it's after 3am here which makes it technically Saturday... so let me rephrase, I saw it on Friday. Smile

How did you like it?

It was great! My local newspaper rated it a two, and it really pissed me off. That movie was phenomenal!! I'd rate it like a 100 or something, but the highest is a 5, but still.

Spoiler:

I loved the whole alien plot though, it was high-tech and just great.

Actually, I didn't like that part much at all. I didn't like this one as much as some of the others. It wasn't bad, but I felt it could have been better or something.

Also....
Spoiler:

I missed the Nazis as the baddies. The commies had fun accents, though.

Spoiler:

Yeah I was watching one of the Indy movies a while before this and it was the one where Indy steals a book from one of the Nazis and runs into Hitler, and Hitler takes the book and signs it, then gives it back. I laughed my head off that part, but yes the Ruskis did have funny accents. That lady kind of creeped me out.

Ooooh, the Last Crusade! That part gave me shivers!

And yeah...

Spoiler:

That lady (I forget her character name, but I know she was played by Cate Blanchett) creeped me the eff out. She was evil, but I thought the chick in Last Crusade was more badass. But I noticed the similarities between them..Their selfishness and need for power was their downfall. I thought that was incredibly wonderful, and a great contrast to the character of Marion, whose selflessness and willingness to help others led not only to her survival, but to be largely loved by everyone.

Spoiler:

That was one of the most disgusting things I'd ever seen in any movie, right up there with the scarabs off The Mummy. The ants just freaking attacked them and drug them under, especially creepy when they started crawling down his throat to eat him alive from the inside. =_=

But since you closed your eyes you didn't see that part.

My eyes were open the whole time. ;_;

Spoiler:

Oh no, I peeked... I saw enough to catch that. It ws awful. I saw that... I saw the skull scaring the ants to walk in a different path, so they went around the fighting. I saw the ants try to climb up tp scary Ukranian woman and she smushed it with her legs. Oh, and I saw them try to drag off Indy's hat. But luckily, they left the hat outside of the hole.

Spoiler:

Yeah the whole bug part was nasty. I don't mind bugs, but if I saw that I'd piss myself or something. Also, Ginny on your comparison to the lady in the Last Crusade and from this one, yeah they were a lot similar.

On the focus of sequels from the first page, I kinda got a vibe when
Spoiler:

the son picked up the hat at the end.

Yeah... but I LOVED it when...

Spoiler:

Indy took it back. But they did hint at the possibility, which I find intriging. I wonder if they did it that way to see what the viewer's responses would be...
