On page 474 in OotP it says "There was a flash of flame in the very middle of the office leaving behind a single golden feather that floated gently to the floor." then more down it says Dumbledore caught the feather. How could he have caught the feather if it on on the floor?

This was not an exit of Dumbledore's. Fawkes, who was keeping a lookout for Dumbledore, was sending him a warning that Umbridge was aware of the fact that Harry and the Weasleys were out of bed.

it was floating "to the floor"... it wasn't on the floor. DD caught it before it got there.

it was floating "to the floor"... it wasn't on the floor. DD caught it before it got there.


lol, again, I read too quickly. I think that I completely skip the entire second half of the sentence with the actualy question in it.
