Yeah, the reason I never watched this is because it was a musical, which I absolutely abhor. I'll give it a try though..

How could you not watch it..
I mean Johnny Depp.. Alan rickman. Helena bonham carter..
and that dude that played peter pettigrew.. (Dont know his name)..
anyway. Johnny was amazing... I LOVE his voice.

Musicals are not so bad.. But I guess it's different for guys and girls. I mostly watched it because I find Johnny Depp very attractive. lol
Helena aka. Bellatrix is awesome in it.

the fact that it was a musical just made me want to see it even more. I love musicals! what do you have against them?
the songs are brilliant...singing about what kind of person is best to eat FTW. and then "Not when I'm around" is such a sweet song *tears up*

Songs ruin the mood for me. Just please, get on with it...you don't need to sing for it to be entertaining. -_- I don't know, it just detracts from the actual things going on for me.

what about songs that advance the dialogue?
sometimes in musicals songs seem random and are overly long, but generally I think they work quite well with the scenes.

No idea. All I know is that when I hear a song starting, I just let out a great *sigh* and facepalm. Then I totally tune it out. (Was that a pun!?). I was once asked to audition for a play in school by the acting coach (forgot the name of the class she taught), but I totally gave up on it when I found out that it was a musical that they were doing. I'm sure this one won't be as bad as I think, I love Alan as an actor, and Johnny Depp is one of my favorites as well (loved him in Pirates).

well maybe you'd actually like musicals if you payed attention. a lot of times you can't cut the songs out because holes would be missing in the story. and I really don't get whats not to like...you like music right? So what's the matter?

Sure I like music. I just don't want actors in the movie I'm watching to be singing. I prefer to keep things separate.

to me its the best of both worlds, an ingenious blending. song can do a lot for a scene that simple dialogue can't.

I have no problem if it's like background music to help with the mood or what not..I really don't know why I feel this way...but it is what it is.

but when i seen sweeney todd i had to download the soundtrack.
1 of the best movies created.

Even though my friend whose like almost a year younger than me who is obssesed with JD gets to watch it as much as she wants.
