I like led Zeppelin, Queen and David Bowie the best. I don't really like any new stuff. I'm also more of a classic rock kinda guy rather than punk rock. although I do like The Clash. They're pretty good.

I've been a Nirvana fan for many years now. In Utero is their magnum opus, methinks. As for classic rock, well, I also like some Bowie, and KISS.

Cricky! I like Queen and Bowie too although I made that comment on another forum and left becuase I got called "faggot" about 3,000 times.

I hide in my little classic bubble and enjoy being ignorant of the shit kids play now.

My brother got me into bowie. At first I was like, what the heck is this. Then after a while when I listened to his good song I really began to see that his music actually means something. Like his album Ziggy Stardust, which is probably my favorite of all time. Queen is fun and zep, is just zep. None of my friends now (moved to connecticut and am now i college in virginia) like any of the music I do. they all listen to new crap. Im also an ignorant little shit but only in a different way. lol

Haha Bowie is good, starman is good.

Virginia? whereabouts? I passed down into Virginia from PA when I was on holiday last year.

Nice place.

Zepp is what Zepp is..I like people who call something "crap or shit" before they've listend to it haha. A guy done that with Queen called it rubbish and yet wouldent give it a try.

I think you have to be ignorant to survive now becuase theres so many catagorised bands like "emo"..wtf is emo "Emotional music" my arse all music comes from poetry which comes from feelings so all music is emotional but the difference is if your angry sing about being pissed off not about cutting your wrists all the fecking time. Whiny..I dont like whiny

I go to school in south east virginia. CNU.

Its kinda funny that people catagorize emo as emo when led zeppelin has more true emotion than anything else ive ever heard. when I lived in connecticut I listened to over the hills and far away and ramble on alot. sice there connecticut is nothing but hills it kinda hit a sweet spot in me. ramble on too because my dad is in the navy and i would have to move alot.

and when you read zeppelin vocals it is nothing but poetry unlike todays stuff.

Hey lady--you've got the love I need
Maybe, more than enough.
Oh Darling Darling Darling, walk a while with me
Oh you've got so much... So much... So much...

Many times I've loved - Many times been bitten
Many times I've gazed along the open road.

Many times I've lied - Many times I've listened
Many times I've wondered how much there is to know.

Many dreams come true and some have silver linings
I live for my dream and a pocketful of gold.

Mellow is the man who knows what he's been missing
Many many men can't see the open road.

Many is a word that only leaves you guessing
Guessing 'bout a thing you really ought to know, ooh!
You really ought to know...
I really ought to know...

not all of todays music is crap though. they just dont even compare.

True.

I suppose it's a love/hate thing. I mean if you can get into the music of today thats great a friend of mine who played drums in college in a "grunge" band likes Rhianna!

I personally cannot get into it, it doesent make me "move" anymore I cant get into the flow and the lyrics basically mean nothing to me. I like a couple of underground bands but thats really it. I hide under my rock and like the my Nirvana poster and my flipper t-shirt..

The new world frightens me lol

Do you listen to any Bruce Springsteen. He's one of my favorites and he meets all the criteria. good instrumentals, good vocals and it actually means something.

has anyone ever seen The Band: The Last Waltz? Its about the the band The Band. Its also their last concert with interviews. I first saw it when i got my PS3 with some free blue-ray movies. At first i just threw it off to the side but when i finally watched it i was really impressed. does anyone else here even like The Band or even Creedence Clearwater Revival.

the pixies are pretty good. but if you've seen forest gump they you have heard creedence clearwater before. both creedence and the band are old school rock and roll. the band was one of the groups that helped make rock and roll. search on youtube for the band, last waltz, helpless. I love that song. creedence also has some classic songs. I just got into both of them so i dont know much. and also thanks for telling me about venus in furs.... it is awesome.
