Whatever happen to the other schools beside Hogwarts? We never really know anything else besides what is in the 4th book, right?

That what I am wondering. Did J.K. Rowling even leave us anything about them? She introduced them, but never told us anything about them. They seemed to have nothing to do with the rising of voldemort. It's weird.

He didn't really care about the other schools as much because Harry wasn't there. The other schools weren't much of a threat to him.

its true that voldemorts personal stake was in hogwarts, but we can't completely write off the other schools and communities in this equation. voldemort took over the ministry of magic, therefore giving him political control of wizarding london. My question is if his reign effects the international community or is it that he was only after power in london? In addition, if his reign did have an international impact, then should we have heard news from abroad?

^ The series was written from Harry's POV. Harry was not exposed to the rest of the world, so we didn't see the effect of Voldemort on it. Jo isn't God. She can't pleasr every one. Just accept what she gives you.

i'm not saying from everyones point of view, just at least leaks of information. if a world perspective (to a minimal respect) was included, it might have added to the audiences scope of the conflict. also as a back story it would have been nice to know just how widespread voldemorts reach was.

| That is a good question. Why didn't the other schools help Hogwarts defeat Voldemort? Better yet, why didn't other countries with magical governments try to intervene in Britain? It seems a little odd that they would just leave Britain under tyranny. |

^ For the same reason that countries in the muggle world didn't intervene for WWII and other wars. If it had gotten to be a global thing, then they would have been forced to. They probably didn't even know that an intervention was needed. Voldemort and his death eaters stayed generally in England. I'm sure that they would have gone for a global muggle genocide if his army had ever gotten strong enough, but this was war was a small-scale war.

There was an American school mentioned in GoF at the Worl Cup, the Salem Institute.
And I believe there are others, but none mentioned in the books.
