I cannot believe their isn;t a Ev topic here...
anyway, Evanescence is my favorite band and I have all their albums. Amy Lee is like the best person ever so diss her and die!!! Is anyone here an Ev fan?

Well, have you guys who are saying its bad even listened to it all through. Evanescence has a lot of talent and most people would disagree with you.

You apparently have never seen them live
Amy Lee's voice is garbage live. Her voice is very digitally enhanced. She also should probably hit the gym more, with all the huffing and puffing she does on stage. |

Are you saying she is fat? Cuz she is NOT. And, no I haven't seen them live but even if Amy had a bad voice, the rest of the band is talented. Just my opinion and I hate fights so I'm not gonna argue but if you dislike Ev/Amy fine but that isn't what I think at all.

Did I say she was? If I did, please show me, as I'm missing it.
If you're referring to my "hitting the gym" comment, then yes, she should hit the gym, if she can't handle being on a stage without breathing heavily into the microphone from apparently not being in shape. That means, while she isn't fat, she obviously isn't cut out for physical activity.
"Even if she had a bad voice...[etc.]" In a band like that, the vocals are the focal point of the band. Therefore, ignoring the vocals, all you have is cliched nu-metal background noise.
I like a couple of their songs on CD, but live? never. |

Alright, I guess. And yeah, I was referring to the gym comment. But thats just my taste. I like the old Nightiwsh, Within Temptation, Lullacry, Flyleaf ect. So you could maybe see how I like Ev so much.

I have all their albums, don't like them but i got them off a friend, i give all bands a 'chance' and yeah, many people may disagree....but my opinions right

That you would even compare a band composed of a former rugrat like Flyleaf with the powerful women of NIghtwish and Within Temptation...well, we won't even go there.
Check out Lacuna Coil. A lot of people compare them to Evanescence (no comparison at all, with the exception of a female vocalist for both). They're a whole different style, but they're amazing. And their singer is effing hot. |

Oh, yeah. I forgot them. I already have some of their songs and I love them! As for Flyleaf, I never said they were better, just a female fronted band so I might listen to them.

LOL.
This thread is jokes. Well, I love their music. I used to love them as people as well, but.. ever since John and Rocky went I've been questioning just how nice Amy is. I met her in January 2007, and she was such a nice girl to the fans. She's stunning in person too. That doesn't matter though, their music is great.
I've seen them live 3 times, and I don't know what you people are talking about.. She's amazing live. Maybe not so much in the Fallen era. Especially if you've seen ABH, that was one of her worst performances. Now her voice is more powerful, but she still doesn't sing "properly". It's all coming from her vocals and it's supposed to come from your diaphragm (I think).
Well, I can't do anything about you people not liking her/them, everyone has their opinions. I wouldn't say they're awful though. To be honest, you really have to give TOD a couple of chances before liking it.. after that it's amazing.
I do miss Ben though, he was a great guitarist. The band would have fallen apart with him though. There was a lot of problems with him. I'm not totally upset that he's gone though, I still like their music, and they've matured from the.. "OMG ZEE DARKNESS EZZ TOO MACH I CANT LEEBSZ NO MO". The Open Door is about getting over that shit, and it's been very helpful for me. It may come off as Amynescence, but at least this way you can relate to the story of another person.

i used to love evanesence!! seriously when i was like ten i used to want to be a goth because i listened to their music heeps and loved it, although i kind of grew out of that stage.
i still like their music, just not a massive fan.
