Peter Jackson should. Lord of the Rings films were brilliant.

I say either Alfonso Cuaron who did a very good job with the 3rd movie or David Yates may do a good job. He did cut a little bit outta the 5th one but he's still quite good. Pete Jackson is an ALRIGHT director BUT he aint the type of director u want for the movie. Yes he's good at great battle scenes like at the end of the DH book and good fantay but you forget that HARRY POTTER is NOT the lord of the rings or anywhere near it! Lord of the rings is COMPLETE FANTASY as in EVERYTHIN is jus creative but Harry Potter has aspects of realism and isn't FULL fantasy and is more STORY than anything so we don't need a director who can make pretty effects and good battles! We need STORY! Basically I didn't like Lord of the Rings Laughing Hate TOO MUCH Fantasy. And the chances of bigger directors such as Steven Spielberg coming to direct HARRY POTTER are pretty low cos I don't think they want anything to do with it. Harry's a great book and all but I don't think it's in STEVIE'S league Laughing

Cut a little bit out? If you hadn't read the books you wouldn't have been able to understand anything without explanation. And they skipped plenty of things and messed it up for future movies.

Hey Hey Hey! Let's not blame this ALL on Ma main man Davie! The guy before him who directed the 4th movie mesed up the future movies much more so you can't just lash out at him Laughing Yes he did leave out a FEW important parts but MOST people who go see Harry Potter movies HAVE read the books unless it's older adults who don't really like it and are jus taking kids to see it or if it's just a young couple goin to see it on a DATE. Apart from them, everyone else has definetaly read the books so whoever DOES go see it and cares alot about storyline has already read the book meaning that if they do cut out a few important parts it doesn't really matter, does it? And David Yate was VERY good at doin the battle scenes and stuff so atleast he can do something a little better than columbus and the other directors Wink

The important parts were left in the movie. Goldenburg excluded the trivial sections, with the guidance of Rowling.

It's the directing itself that I have a problem with. Yates was obviously wet behind the ears and way in over his head.

Just read on mugglenet that David Yates is interested and, I quote, 'wants' to do DH.

This was posted in Lois Lowry's blog

...he has just decided he wants to do the final Harry Potter first, thereby postponing The Giver by several years.

Chris Columbus would do an ace job of DH, just as he did the first two.
Yates did an acceptable job, but he really missed important and key scenes out so he's not all that good really.

I watch the movie Spiderwich Cronicales a couple weeks ago and I think whoever directed that movie would be really good for the 7th movie. The movie was G rated and me and my bff were sitting down her edge of our chairs Razz
