Unfortunatley its Helen McCrory. What are they thinking? Im not sure this is a good fit but maybe it will be better than it seems. She just doesn't look the part at first glance.

That's a weird choice, guess we'll just have to wait and see how she does.

I just did a image search and I think that she passes for Bellatrix' sister but not Draco's mother. Then again, none of those pictures portrayed her as a blonde. Best to just wait and see.

I thought they'd done the first Slughorn scene, at least.

There are production pictures in the HBP/film forum. They were filming Slughorn's house in Lacock, Wiltshire..

^Im sorry, I thought Kingsley was asking if they started shooting scenes for Narcissa. Yes, they have started shooting scenes with Harry, DD, and Slughorn.

Do you think its too early to ask off for the 18th and 19th of next year? lol

It makes you think , how can they be so specific when it will most likely be delayed Smile

^This is the 6th film. I think they're getting used to how things are going to be and what it will take to finish the movie. I doubt it will be delayed.

from the cbbc newsround

Quote:
EXCLUSIVE: Narcissa cast in Potter 6

With filming under way on the sixth Harry Potter film, Newsround can exclusively reveal that actress Helen McCrory will play Narcissa Malfoy.
The Potter team have been after her for a while.

She was originally cast as Bellatrix Lestrange in the fifth Potter movie, but couldn't play the part because she was expecting a baby.

Now she's set to play Draco's mother and Bellatrix Lestrange's sister, who's played by Helena Bonham Carter.

Check out our Harry Potter section
Now the two will end up playing sisters in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Other casting includes Jim Broadbent as Professor Horace Slughorn.

An announcement on who will play young Tom Riddle and Lavender Brown is expected very soon.

Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince is due to hit cinemas towards the end of 2008.

well this pic came up...and I'm pretty sure she's no the dude so there's a glimpse of what she looks like blonde

I actually think her looks are better suited to narcissa anyway...beyond the dark hair.

I think she'll be great , it's not the hardest role to play so an actress of her caliber should do great !!

I just looked at her page on imdb. She played Valentina Villefort in the 'Count of Monte Cristo'! (the newer version w/ Jim Caviezel and Richard Harris). I've seen that so many times and I still didn't recognize her face when I did an image search earlier today.

I think her portrayal of Mrs. Villefort will be similar to her Narcissa Malfoy. Both characters are very protective of their family and their family's image.

huh I've never even heard her name before. Oh well, Harry Potter isn't known for casting well known actors and actresses besides Richard Harris, The new Dumbledore, and the guy that plays Hagrid.
