Seeing as how the 7th book is bound to be released sometime in mid-07, I was wondering who besides me hopes for an 8th book in the series?

I would absolutely loveee for there to be an 8th book, but I don't think it will happen.

I'd like to read about his adult life or his children's experience in school.
... If he lives atleast.

Coincidentally enough, I was thinking about the exact same thing when I first started reading them.

I was hoping that the books would keep coming long after his seventh year and into his adult hood (as you mentioned, if there is one Confused ).

Exactly!

I had always hoped that Harry would live and grow up and have kids (Ginny, eh? Wink ).

But, I doubt JK can write about it THAT long, and I'm sure she's already tired of writing it.

Maybe someone else will follow in her footsteps?

Yeah, I know, but, as long as they kept it entertaining, I'd love to read more into his adult-hood.

It isn't uncommon for people to write sequels to books they didn't right. Pride and Prejudice has a billion sequels, but Jane Austen didn't write any of them.

I can't agree with you on that.

I have an itchy feeling that it would be boring and seemingly pointless until the 6th year.

Hmmm I really don't want there to be anymore books. I believe you can only take things so far before they become boring and just not fun anymore. Example being all those new Disney moies Disney is making like Bambi 2... That just ruins the classic Bambi movie in my opinon.

Some things just need to end and be remembered for what they were.

I understand what you're saying Pheonix, but sometimes when I'm sitting around, I wonder what it'll be like when I know that there won't be anymore books.

I know, Harry Potter is the only book I've actually read, and it's something I like to do in my free time.

But, after the 7th book, if there aren't gonna be anymore, I'm just gonna see no point in reading them.

I usually read the old ones to try and guess what will happen in the 7th, but after the 7th comes out, there will be no need.

I would absolutely love Book 8 and beyond. Harry beyond Hogwarts. Harry and his new adventures on the job. Harry and his friends 50 years from now. Even pre-Harry/James and Lily. But the thing is, JKR invented HP and I really can't see another author trying to create and continue the future of HP.

I would run to Scotland and start throwing flower's at Jo's house if there was an eighth. But she said only 7 books. Of course...there might be a prequel....about The Marauders, etc. Or like...a book telling us about Harry's life afterword, like...who he marries, etc.
But if he dies, i don't think there will be any more books, except for MAYBE the prequel.

Anything...is possible.
*Hugs JKR for thinking and writing***
Very Happy
