I thought this topic might be interesting.

They effected my pretty highly to be honest. They gave me to big nudge into books. My parents are (were) a teacher and my sister was a book publicist so they both absolutely adore literature. I would read a lot though before Harry Potter but when the Sorcerers Stone did come out.... IT WAS ON! I read every single one of those suckers. Like many people in our generation I grew up with these. So on a reading stand-point very high.

The reading nudge also helped me grow a worth ethic in writing, reading just literature in general. So, I'll give myself a 6. Without them I don't think I'd go through a book every week.

it hasn't impacted my life completely,
but it sure has made a huge difference in my life!
throughout reading and watching harry potter,
i noticed that love conquers all..
and, that's what i follow throughout my life.

I would say about a 5.. Because it has not affected my life to much.. but Harry Potter is part of the reason I love to read.

I will say 9 3/4's. It's gotten me into reading again. I haven't Picked up a book since I had to read all those boring books in English Class. . I just never got into reading. But Harry Potter changed that. Good for JK rowling for writing something worth reading. Smile

10.
HP is the reason I read now. I never really liked reading before them and now Im reading all the time granted I reading only HP. I did however start reading a fictional book based on a fictional adaptation of Nicholas Flamel. I also would like start writing which is something completely derived from JKR and the HP series.

10

It has impacted my life in every way.
I started reading again, and realized how much I've missed reading.
I made new friends.
I even go around humming The Mysterious Ticking Noise...

... there is not a part of my life that hasn't been effected by HP.

I put myself down as a 9. I began reading Hp when I was 6 or seven, so it started when I was young. It made me really into books, developed my memory (I tried to see how much of it I could memorize, I just trained a little, and my memory's amazing now), got me to appreciate the steps I must take while reading a book to truly understand it, and it has shaped others' image of me, as the whole thing struck me so young.

This is a good question. If I had answered this question say two years ago, I probably would have said a 6, but right now it's a 10. Over the summer, I read five, six, and seven within a week or so. For whatever reason I didn't finish book five, so I had to re-read it in order to read six and seven. HP helped me out in so many ways over the summer, and if it weren't for HP then I wouldn't be on here, talking to one of my closest friends right now. HP affects me daily, I can't imagine it not. To me it's not just the books, it's the whole franchise, the movies, the forums, etc..

I went with 7. Harry Potter was the first book I ever really got into, so I guess you could say its what makes me intrested in books today. Other than that, it hasnt impacted me too much.

I had to say a 10. The first book came out when I was in 6th grade and I can honestly say it was the first time I enjoyed reading. I grew up reading the books and for the past 8 years HP has dominated every other book I read. Socially, I would have to say a 5 because I besides this forum, I do not talk much Potter.

I read those books when i was in third grade. they got me to love reading and made fantasy my favorite genre. i can't imagine not having harry potter in my life. it's hard to explain how it influenced my life. let's put it this way- people think i'm a freak for being so obsessed.

The books affected me quite a bit too really. They are the only fantasy series I have ever been into at all but it made me more open to reading in general really. They are also very captivating to me. If I'm going through a hard time like I was earlier in the year they are just the perfect escape.

The books affected me a LOT. I started the series when I was 3rd grade, and was reading ever since.

It has gotten me more active in clubs and forums, and got me into more great books.

it has affected my life a bit I guess just because it's one of the reasons I really enjoy reading. But it's not the only thing I love, even though I'm kind of obsessed, so I put 7. It has effected some parts of my life, but not all.
