Spoiler:

If she had planned the saga better, then it would have been tons better.
And yeah, I know the odds were against them and one of them should have died.. but I can't help but to be happy that my sparkly is still sparkly.

Spoiler:

Actually Stephenie Meyer said that she knew the ending of the saga way early, like right after she finished Twilight, so she did have a plan, but the thing about her, or this is something she mentions, is that she likes happy endings and couldn't kill anyone. Same reason why she doesn't want to start writing the sequels to The Host, she mentions that someone has to die.

Spoiler:

Yeah, I just read that interview where she says she planned stuff out . In that same interview she said how she didn't plan everything out, like with why Rosalie went from interesting to a bitch. And who Embry's father is. She admitted to not planning everything out. So I can't believe that what she did plan was thought out well at all.

Spoiler:

I guess she's a funny writer, she has like the main stuff planned out but they can change quick in the actual writing process then to us readers its looks unplanned. She did the same with Jacob, she didn't think Jacob was an important character, and look at him now!!!!

^ See . . . That's thye problem with Stephenie! Character development always trumps plot! Then we have over-developed characters who have nothing to do . . .

Spoiler:

grrrr, like Rosalie! She was built up in Eclipse, only to have her be the mega-bitch in BD who didn't care whether Bella lived or died. How can you spend eternity with someone who hated you so much?

You have poor taste in literature, perhaps? You like bad sentence structure? You prefer an elusive plot? You enjoy an author who gives an half-assed explanation of things? You like over-developed characters who have all of their choices taken away?

Choose one -- any one.

Is she had a poor taste in literature, she wouldn't be on these forums, now would she?

I think perhaps... confused taste in literature? lol, jk.

I can't say I'm upset about the Twilight move, I just wish HP hadn't had to move for it to happen.

Most critics aren't best selling authors. And not all best selling authors write great book. Selling a book doesn't mean the book itself it amazing.

I'm not saying I don't like the books, I'm very much dazzled. As a storyteller, Stephanie Meyer is good. But as an author, she could use a few rewrites and edits.

Some of the best written books aren't bestsellers. Why? The masses cannot understand the prose. That's why contemporary authors dumb it down.

Sad but true. The common(wo)man is stagnating the evolution of writing.

Not to say a good story can't be told without quintessential dictionary-busters though. Wink

i agree.
it annoys me when people say stephanie's a bad author because she's not actually THAT bad.
she's a great story teller, and a failry good author.

the host is pretty well written in my oppinion. it's better written than the twilight series.

it's not really fair to say that stephanie meyer is a BAD author, she's just not an incredibly good one.

I'm not, but as others have said -- best-selling doesn't necesarilly mean good writing. Honestly, though, you're post was useless. If you want to prove a point, then come back at my points with reasons that you feel the series is good or reasons that you think my points are not valid. That's how debating works. Otherwise, you're just arguing childishly.

I got addicted to the series a few weeks ago, and finished Breaking Dawn last night. All in all, a refreshing saga, although the last book was kind of a letdown.

I usually never compare different series with each other, but for every fantasy saga I read, HP seems more and more mediocre to me. Not as good as I thought it was when I were younger. Oh well.

HP -- Mediocre? Wow. Everytime I read it, I am shocked by how much more I can appreciate and read into it the older I get.

It's weird that people say that Twilight isn't that well writtwn. I think it's very well written. I personally like a book better when it's in first person. It gives you a great insight into how they think. Except all I've learned about bella is that she's an idiot, and that I love, love, love Edward.

It's not the fact that it's written in first person that ruins it. It's the poor sentence structure, half-assed supposed scientific explanations for this "fantasy" world, and the general unintellegible banter of Bella.
