It ties for number 1 book in the entire universe. I guarantee, one day, J.K. Rowling and Stephenie Meyer will be up there with those smart authors like Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, and the greek people who I can't remember their names, much less spell them.
Edward Cullen and Harry Potter...my two fictional boyfriends. I just can't choose!!!!!
lol, I almost never fall for the main characters.
Mine are Fred, and then George, and Embry Call.
oo embry, interesting! i've never thought about him before, but yeh i guess he would be pretty cool!
Ya, there's not about him in the books, but he's still awesome to me!!!
Which is why whenever someone asks if I like Vampires or Werewolves better, it's so hard to decide. I love the vamps, but a wolf has my heart. _________________ "If it looks like we were scared to death, just a couple of kids trying to save each other. You should've seen it in color."
Zenny and I have been spending all our free time dissecting the books, including Midnight Sun. We've been preparing very hard for Breaking Dawn.
Right now our biggest fear is...
Spoiler:
The book will have too much Jacob in it and not enough sparkles.

he's annoying the crap out of me in Eclipse, I'm reading it again and I was too absorbed last time to really look at it.
lol, b4 I read the series Kiwi, potterisnoplotter, was reading Eclispe and she was sitting across from me in Homeroom. I was reading a book, not really paying attention to anything when she exclaims, "Ima 'bout to jump in this book and EAT Jacob Black!"
I look up shocked, "Why?" I asked.
"'cause he's really starting to piss me off!"
I didn't ask anymore, I didn't want to spoil the series and I laughed at the time, but now I understand her frustration.

I hate to say this but I tink Twilight series and HP series are tied. They are both really good books. But, really you can't compare them. It is like comparing Ice cream to cookies. Two totally different things.
They're both fantasy novels, so you can compare them.
Anyways, I've heard a lot about these books recently, and have seen a few girls from my school readin 'em, and my girlfirend insists I give them a look, so I ask the community whom choice of literature mirrors my own: is it on par with Rowling's writing? I'm talking from a purely literature standpoint. 'Cause Rowling has a magical way with words (at least in her earlier books (really, read Sorcerer's Stone, that prose kicked ass!)).

i think rowling's writing is better. but there are some bits in twilight when i thought stephanie's way with words was as good as JKR's.
but i think twilight is also easier to read. _________________

easier as in simpler i guess. it's not really simple, but it's just more straightforward with the plot.
but yeh if you go to the link ginnyX posted, you can see for yourself. _________________

Yeah, I saw. From what I could glean from that chappie I read, her writing is a step down from Rowling's. She has decent hyperbole, and some catchy worldplay, but the emotion isn't there. I, personally, don't see the critical acclaim, and just think scores of women have fallen in love with the character (Edward, that is) rather than the actual writing.
I'm not going to pass my very critical judgement on the series just based off one chapter, but I'm not sold on it yet.
