Just a question as to why Hogwarts has soooo many ghosts?
Why hasn't anybody tried to help them move on to the next realm of existence?
And why did Tom kill Myrtle?
And why in the world is she such a pervert with Harry? (I know she likes him)
Just some things that weren't covered in the films. |

Just a question as to why Hogwarts has soooo many ghosts?
They don't have that many, but that's just where they left their imprint, afterall only wizards can do it and it is one of the main wizarding locations.
Why hasn't anybody tried to help them move on to the next realm of existence?
That's not how it works, they leave their imprint, it is stuck neither here nor there.
And why did Tom kill Myrtle?
Because she was a muggle-born. And he didn't kill her, the basilisk did.
And why in the world is she such a pervert with Harry? (I know she likes him)
She's a teenager, and he's one of the few people to have shown her any kind of interest in her, she throws herself at Malfoy too in DH 'cause she thinks they share something.

So many ? You shouldn't rely on the films for your source of information if you know it's based on a book. There are only so few ghost or "imprints of people" in hogwarts. The only time there was a full gathering was on Nicks death day party which took place on Halloween in COS.

Nick explains in the book that they can't. He feared death, so he imprinted his soul on earth to remain there. There is no way he can move on. You could say he is...trapped ? I honestly feel bad for them..

He really didn't do it because he was after her, he was just summoning the snake and she was crying in the bathroom stall because Oliver was teasing her. She herd the boys voice and came out to yell at him for being in the girls rest room and her eyes met the snakes....She died.

Thanks for the great replies.
On a side not, I noticed in the second film harry and Malfoy dont bow before there school dual. I dont know if it's in the second book that they bow as I am still getting to it. But I think they shoulda being surrounded by so many students in school and all, or at least harry should have.

Originally in the book, everybody had partners.
It wasn't just "Potter Vs. Malfoy".

You guys say that he killed Myrtle on accident, but didn't he make the diary from her death? Whether Myrtle's death was an accident or not, he obviously was intending to kill some one at Hogwarts in order to practice making a horcrux.

Right, but Moaning Myrtle's death wasn't necassarily on purpose. She was in the stall crying... she heard a voice... came out of the stall to tell teh oy off, and she came face to face with the basilisk. She might have been at the wrong place at the wrong time... but yes, he did take advantage of that fact and used her death to make a Horcrux. If not her, it would have been someone.

you know what dude i do not know and i think that if the others new that they would have told you mabey it is just one of thoes that about harry potter that we will never know unless you talk to jk rowling

We don't know, sorry. It's never said in the books and JKR hasn't said anything about it in any of her interviews.

Well, We know for a fact Professor Binns and Myrtal died in Hogwarts. That was stated in the books. Professor Binns (The ghost that teaches History of Magic) just got up to continue work one day and left his body behind.
In the DH the ghost of Ravenclaw dies in the forest (where she left Ravenclaws hair loom.) She only told Harry and Tom about it. So that just leaves Nick, the fat farer, and the Bloddy Barron.
