I'm reading Cart and Cwidder by Diana Wynne Jones and The Eye of the Heron by Ursula K. Le Guin.

Heron started out really weird, but now that I'm twenty pages in, I think it's great.

I just finished reading Trials of Death by Darren Shan and going to read Vampire Prince. After I'm done The Saga of Darren Shan, I'm gonna read Skybreaker by Kenneth Oppel, then Sunwing and Firewing by Kenneth Oppel, then I'm gonna start to read the Pendragon series of books. After that, I'm gonna read the Artemis Fowl series, then I'm gonna read The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman. After that, I might reread Airborn or make a novel of my own

I justs finished it, and OMG! It was so freaking good! I think that Jodi Picoult is possibley the best writer of today. She really knows how to throw surprises at people. I kept not reading the books that she put out in the past few years, because they didn't look that great. I was so stupid! Now I can't wait to read those books.

Now, I don't know what I'm going to read. I was going through the books in my closet. I was going to read a book about the history of the English language, but I suddenly feel like a classic novel.

I'm reading East of Eden by John Steinbeck. It's turning out to be an excellent read. I bought it a few years ago when I just happened upon it at a bookstore. I was in the mood for a classic, but then I never read it.

I'm reading it now. The first few chapters were a little hard to get though, because Steinbeck is a bit over-descriptive. His prose are beautiful, and he really does bring the pistures in his mind to life in a most colorful way. It's just that a person can only picture so many landscapes before getting bored. He stopped after those first few chapters though, and I actually could appreciate the reason that he did it. He was telling of the Salinas Valley and it birth in much the was that the bible descibes the beginning of the world in Genesis. It's the most poetic novel I have ever read.

It's also extremely scandalous, which is great. It reminds me a little bit or Canterbury tales in the sense that I can see people in a different time as they actually were. They are colorful and full of emotiong unlike the stiff emontionsless people who I see in photographs from those days. Instead this book makes me look at those photos and imagine those people directly before and after those photos were shot. I can use my imagination to create lives at home, problems that a very much like mine and ones that I will never have to face because of the world that I live in as oppose to theirs.

It also shows the history of America in a very truthful light. It shows the ugliness that we never see in history books, but it also shows a beauty that you could never get from the cold words in those text books at school. I'm not even half-way though, but I would recommend it to any one. Sorrry that I just wrote an entire essay for you guys. This book has me super excited.

The Outsiders - S.E. Hinton
For the second time.
We read it for school, but I wasn't really into it at first. So, I'm reading it again on my own and paying better attention to it.
Sad shiz.
