Just curious as to what you guys think.

How much has your visual perception of the HP characters changed.
I mean since the movies. I only started reading after the movies.

I know there are character sketches an all, but just wondering how much your perceptions of the visual contrast of the HP characters has change or is different then your minds desires since the movies were release from when you first read the books???

Ron's character fits so well with the guy that plays him that I don't even bother separating the two in my mind. Same with Emma. The only problem I have is scale, like with Hagrid, he's supposed to be so much bigger than any human. And DD is supposed to be really tall. That's about it for me. The scenery is different though.

I started watching the movies before reading the books, so I always imagined those actors, whether I wanted to or not.

Objectionly speaking, though, I think they did a good job of casting... especially for Ron Weasley and Prof McGonagall. But I think its all a matter of opinion.

I read the first three before seeing the movies and then reread them over the last few months and watched the movies and I think the only one I can see differently from the actors while reading is Percy and Mr. Weasley because I like their descriptions and think they fit them better in the book.
And maybe Sirius.
I see Richard Harris and not Micheal Gambon, when I read about DD because to me he was DD and he was so much better.
I also always prefer to think of Alan Rickman when I read about Snape because I don't like his descriptions in the book, I just can't see him like that XD;!

To this say, I use my own imagined characters. Harry is skinnier, his hair is all messy, and His scar has a different sort of lightning-bolt shape. I have moved the scar to the side of his forehead in my imagination, though. Hermione . . . well, she is just completely different. She is moussy, has way bushy hair and eyebrows, and bucked teeth (until GOF when she fixed them). She should have been uglier. I don't mean that she is pug-ugly in my mind, but plain I suppose. Ron is pretty well-exemplified, except that I see him as tall and gangly. The twins were more like football player (American) in my mind. They were supposed to be tall and stocky. The first Albus was a great depiction of the book Albus. Dudley was supposed to have hair that was pale blonde, and pink skin. Those are the ones that are important that I can think of.

they cast all the charters really well except ron and harry.
Rupert Grint is too short and stout (if thats the wrong word i'm sorry) not tall and thin, but he plays ron really well so i'm ok with him.
but i have always had an issue with Daniel Radcliff's hair. in the first movies it was plastered to his head, then he started growing it out so in the fourth movie he looked like harry, BUT, then he SHAVED IT OFF!

when emma was like eleven she looked the way Hermione was supposed to look with the puffy brown hair and all, but then as time went on her hair got blonder and more perfect and she stopped looking like hermione
