I would not participate if we had done that in high school. The teen pregnancy rate at my school was through the roof. Pro-life advocacy was not something that we needed.
We did do something around prom time. A certain number of students painted their faces white at different intervals of the day, and they had to stay silent for the rest of the day. That was for drunk driving, though. I didn't do that. I knew that I wouldn't have the strength to not talk all day. _________________

I think the only people who have a right to talk about the right and wrong of abortion are those who have had them and doctors. Though, personally, based on scientific evidence I'm pro-choice but don't think I could ever abort.
Oh, and schools shouldn't do that kind of mass thing, politics and religion should be taught but not acted upon in schools. _________________
this is my opinion.. and i am using the word you as a general term i know it was just a rally and you are not doing this.
abortion is murder, theres a life growing inside you... a machine goes in and cuts it up... no life..or you take a pill that is poison to that life... no more life. anyway you look at it, it is murder.
personally i am pro choice, i won't abort a baby because i believe that it is not my job to take that life away.
i believe that the gods gave us free will and if you want to abort your baby you should consider your beliefs and follow your heart. yes, you can also adopt the baby out... but then you will still have 40 weeks of pregnancy, missed work, etc. you also will most likely bond with the baby and not want to give it up afterwards. so theres good and bad in that.
also the child will grow up knowing his mother didnt want him.
so if you choose to abort its not my problem, because it's your transgressions that you will have to account for whenever you meet whatever god you worship.
i do believe that it should be manditory to have teens get some form of birthcontrol (and one that they can't forget) like a shot but not depo because it makes you depressed and psycho. teen pregnancy is something that needs to be addressed and it isnt like kids are not informed. they are. but around 14-17 girls get uncontrollable mom hormones and do stupid things.
thats my lil rant.. _________________

If you don't want a kid, keep your legs closed. A little rough, sorry, but that's all I have to say on the matter.
And no, I'm not a vegan. I eat meat. I eat eggs. But I eat eggs that haven't been fertalized and what I eat serves a purpose. We don't eat embryos, just kill them. _________________ "If you're going through hell, keep going."

There's more to sex then just getting pregnant. To me, sex is a symbol of love, just because a couple doesn't want a child doesn't mean they shouldn't have a sex.
I'm Pro-Life, the only time I think an abortion should happen is if the pregnancy is endangering the mother. Everybody has the right to live, and nobody has the right to say otherwise. _________________ Follow, please follow me home

I'm not saying whether or not I'm for or against, since this isn't what the original poster asked...
I think that having a rally like that in a public school is absurd and could lead to a complete uproar that would terrify most school boards. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate ~ Bob Dylan Team Cucumber, FTW!

I'm just saying, be prepared for that alternative. _________________ "If you're going through hell, keep going."

Wait, so by your logic, if we ate embryos abortion would be okay? And an animals life is worth less than your own? _________________

Now I'm almost a vegetarian because I don't believe personally in eating meat, but I think that it's generally sometimes alright to do so. Plenty of animals are omnivores and even carnivores, and granted they don't consume as much meat as we do, but still....

I'd be pretty pissed off if, as a parent, where I'm forced to send my child to school or go to jail, that they're being taught the pro-life agenda is the right way to think.

um.. i dont agree with eating embryos, but heck yes, a human life is worth much more than an animal's life. _________________

Enter the actual vegan...haha, sorry, couldn't help myself.
You're right in that plenty of animals are omnivores and carnivores...but there are some that are herbivores. As for humans, yes we technically are capable of being carnivores and omnivores...but we also have the capability of being herbivores.
My personal theory on that matter is...if we don't absolutely have to harm something, then we shouldn't. And that's where we separate our species from other animal species...the idea of choice. Whether we're carnivores, omnivores, or herbivores...it's all a choice...a choice we, as a species, are able to make. _________________ Pudding Sistah Number One!
at my school we doing htis thing for abortion
the motto is
"give up your voice for a day for those who will never have one."
Like the women who have no voice in our misogynistic society which wants to abolish abortion.

So despite the fact that the animals you're eating actually have brains, and emotions, and embryos are just a pile of stem cells, literally without any sort of brain structure, consciousness or emotion, it's more morally acceptable to kill the animal?
In English: you've decided that killing something with emotions is more moral than killing something without emotions.
As for serving a purpose, embryos serve much more of an important purpose than feeding you. There are alternatives to eating meat. There is little hope for an alternative cure to cancer, Parkinson's, leukemia, and diabetes that is nearly as effective as stem cells. _________________

I don't meat, because I don't appreciate the egotism of the human race. People breed animals just to eat them. They raise them in these terrible conditions, and they mass murder them. It would be different if humans leveled the playing field. Lions, for example, have to go out and hunt their food with what nature gave them. Humans have no right to act like animals were put on this earth just for their comfort. _________________
