^ Thats my feelings on it, I think it was a decision she made later. For the reason to stir things up.

I don't think she was really trying to stir things up. Maybe just working on planning her encyclopedia?

I think she had it planned all along, it would explain why DD never liked to talk about Grindelwald to other people, including Harry.

And we don't hear about it in the books because, well, why would we? Most of what we know is what Harry knows. So if Harry never found out about DD's sexual orientation then the reader (us) wouldn't know, either.

A lot of information is coming out now because there simply wasn't room for it in the books or no logical place for it to go.

Through out the whole series she has given us bits of information not mentioned in any of the books... such as the core of Hermione wand, Tonks's Hogwarts house, even Ron's patronus... this is just another bit of information she thought would interest us.

The point of her writing the Potterpedia is to give us more information... meaning she has more information to give us. We wouldn't be half as excited about the Potterpedia if she told us everything in the books.

She has said over and over again that she has crates full of notes she wrote while writing the stories. During a special on A&E she even flashed a class list containing character names that were never mentioned in any of the seven books.

This is just another bit of information that she just didn't put in the books for her own reasons, whatever they may be. There are plenty of ways to stir us up... she could have told us anything and we'd be excited.

JKR is proud to be banned because it means she is not going to give in to unjustified narrow minded assumptions and hypocritical/homophobic peopel who think that they know better and are the keepers of worldwide morals............ Although the only thing I would say that if she always intended him to be gay we should have found this out in the course of the books........I'm glad DD was gay but its almost anti-climatic to reveal that after the fact, and after whole story is is finished......maybe this info will make it into the HP encyclopedia she is planning.

It's sad in the fact that this was probably the reason why he didn't find love. Everybody deserves to love and be loved, no matter what or who you are.

Oooh... maybe like Snape.... how they each held a torch for their first love and wasn't able to be happy with anyone else afterwards.

I remember reading Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter by Galadriel Waters. He goes on about how Prof Flitwick is obviously gay ( Rolling Eyes his theory, not mine)... and people have wondered if Neville was gay... but for some reason everyone finds this revelation so much more shocking and surprising.

Teacakes, no, haven't read them all just yet. still workin through them, it will take a while, but I am enjoying them.

I dont think DD being gay belongs in HP, I think if your gonna make a character gay, dont do it to a character sooo many young people look up to. I confuses some of them. At least not the way she did it.

Well, IMHO, DD is not gay. it wasnt covered in the books, so it isnt so.

I also believe that boba fett died in return of the jedi, even though later lucas said he lived and climbed out of the sarlac pit, the last we saw him he went down screaming like a lil girl, so, if something doesnt happen on screen or in a book, doesnt mean it can happen, but doesnt mean it does happen imho.

I believe it says it in the book itself. Although i am not sure...but it says Boba Fett crawls out...

Anywho, why wouldn't you believe it coming from the creators them selfs ?
J.k. knows what she was talking about. Your just being ignorant.

No, I know what I am talking about and referring to, and am sorry if it comes across as ignorance.

Boba fett dies bro!!! The books were made many years after the movies release. They dont mean jack, neither does the expanded universe as the Prequals ignores them completely.

And the star wars books arent the main thing, the movies are as they were made first with no goal for a book release. Hell GL didnt even write the SW books.

And the HP books are the same way, they are HP law, not the movies as the books were made with no intent on theatrical release.

Once you do something and release it, thats it buddy, you dont get to go back and say, uh no, blah blah blah.... If it's not in the books, it really isnt so, in a way, unless you re-release the books, or create the hp dictionary..

If we didnt see it in the SW movies and actually saw the guy go down like a bitch, thats the way it is. Lucas now states (after 20 years) that Boba survived, ONLY because he became such a popular character. He himself admits that if he knew boba was gonna be so darn big, he wouldnt have killed him off, or woulda done so in a better way.

P.S. On the aurthor subject, thats like episode 2 star wars, lucas said over 200 jedi come rushing into the arena at the end, um... no George, I counted about 30 jedi, not 200.

Dumbledore being gay does not change my views and thoughts about him, i think JK did this to add interest obviously she added anger instead.

Maybe she wanted Fans to get even more interested, maybe people lost most there HP interest since the last book so this is supposed to add interest.

GL is the author for Episode 4....so he did write stuff... >.>
if i remember correctly it never shows Boba actually being swallowed.
and i do believe he could escape. He is one of the best.

AND

J.k. didn't change her mind. If you read the interview she says "Oh, well if i knew you lot like that so much i would have told you sooner. She has a book with tons of crap like that written down. Stuff we don't know and couldn't be included in the book because there was no place to fit it. Could you really expect J.K. to throw in the fact that he is gay or list every characters sex and orientation ?

Neon purple is my favorite color. I'm not gay, but wouldnt wear purple, but the Joker does from BM, lol

Also, DD has purple robs that are pimpin. To me it says he owns ho's, not homos. lol

Dark mark, um... episode 4 isnt when boba dies, and I suggest you watch jedi, it does show him getting gulped up, even has a sarlac sound effect to it of a beltch after he goes down. Do some research before you post.

He had probably been gay from the moment jk thought of him. either there was no space in the book to put dumbledore's sexual orientation, or it really wouldnt fit if she put it there, otherwise she'd appear too random... like... hell, were talking about deathly hallows and the fascination of dumbledore and grindelwald... where did his sexual orientation come in?

Overall, the only problem I have with it is there is no real reason to even mention he is gay but to stir up dropping book sales.

And if he is gay, leave it for the dictionary.

And yes, he is gay, but for the avarage joe, if it doesnt fit into the books, it doesnt need to be mentioned, only to the hardcore fans in a way.

Even though he is gay, if it was that important, it woulda been mentioned in the books.
