I got an otter for the quiz, but I've always wanted a Penguin as my patronus. They've been my favorite animals for forever.

| I would have to be a dog, like Ron. I think that JK really thought hard about which character got which animal to be their patronus. Great that she did though - it just adds to the Harry Potter effect. |

Jo never commented on that herself, that I can find, but she did use the word partonuses:
Members of the Order use their Patronuses to communicate with each other.
