This is kind of useless but I always thought the Lovegoods were first mentioned in the 5th book, but in book 4(edit) page 73(American Version) it mentions them. Just wanted to see if anyone else saw that.

They were actually mentioned for the first time in GoF when the Weasleys, Harry and Hermione were waiting to take the portkey to the Quidditch World Cup.

Darn it, I'm on vacation and don't have that book with me... I can't give you an exact quote, I'm sorry to let you down! 
But it was towards the beginning when the Weasleys, plus Hermione and Harry, meet up with the Diggorys. Arthur asks Mr. Diggory if anyone else is coming and Mr. Diggory says, no the Lovegoods are already there. It's something like that. I'm so sorry I can't give you an exact quote...

Yeah, I think they if a few family's are coming and they say the love goods have been there for a week and then the other family couldn't get tickets.

It's not a big deal, i was just wondering what part of the book it was, thanks for clearing that up. Oh, and have fun on your vacation!
