there's something ive noticed... while harry and hermione share the same train of thought, ron's is just completely different. i mean, look, in book 2, both harry and hermione were able to guess that tom's diary might hold something impt about the COS... 50 years ago.. award for special services... but ron simply did not understand them

and then in book 7... both harry and hermione did not like the idea of owning the elder wand... but ron just had a different thought... there's still much more which ive found in DH... ill just post them here when i see them

Yes, but his whole demeanor and thought process and knowledge is so important in the grand scheme of things, not to mention that he keeps Harry and Hermoine together and moving forward. DD understood Ron and appreciated him (even if he wasn't aware of it).

Ron's not slow he just doesn't think the way someone would say an 'intelligent' person does. He kicks ass at wizard chess.

That's right, I forgot how good he is at chess.

I think he's just really, really immature, and Molly's got him more than a bit spoiled, in spite of the Weasley's poverty.

I have to say it, despite his great work a tthe Wizard Chess challenge in book 1, Ron is one of my least favorite characters...he just gets more and more annoying. He's self-absorbed and whiny by the end of book 7, and so much so that he's not even entertaining to me anymore. The only thing that makes him look past his own nose is Hermione's constant disapproval of him (go, Hermione!!).

I think that it is because Ron was raised in the wizarding world, while Harry and Hermione were raised by muggles. Ron is basically immune to the knowledge of how much power they hold in the in wizarding world. I'm having trouble explaining what I am thinking, but a lot of times, wizard-born children just take things for graned and skim over the possibilities.

Well I will say this, when it comes to train of thoughts, ron is kinda like me. My friends will see the big picture and will connect it all together while I go with what first pops into my mind. If I thought it was a better idea to possess the elder wand, by god i would want to hunt it down til the very end... its not that i am stupid and i am sure it is the same in rons case, its that we see things more simpler and differently than other people. So what i beleive about ron is that he just sees everything differently and goes with what pops in his head first. doesnt sit there and think about it for a few seconds, like Harry and Hermione.

Actually, all three of them say they would have gone for different things... Harry said he'd a have gone for the stone and Ron said he'd have gone for the Elder wand. Hermione was the only one who said she'd go for the cloak. Ron said "you're suppoesd to say the cloak..."
Harry points out that they already have a cloak.... so I'm not sure what you mean about how Harry and Hermione were on the same track and Ron was on a different one.

^ Plus they want them for different reasons, Harry wants his family back, Ron wishes he was as powerful, smart etc as the other two and as his brothers, where as despite what Hermoine may think she more often than not says the right thing instead.

no it wasnt that. i ddnt refer to that. what i meant was at the end, after voldie died... when he went to dd's portrait and repaired his wand... ron was like, "are you sure you prefer your old wand?" or something like that....

They all kind of have their own personality and type of thought, but yea Ron's is preety out there a lot. I think Harry and Hermione have a little bit more sense and think out things more clearly, while Ron is just Ron.

well im not saying that ron was stupid or nonsensical... he did make sense, only he thought of things in a different way... which makes me think that he and luna would make a great pair, come to think of it. of course he'lll keep making fun of luna for her nargles and crumple horned snorkacks... but come to think of it, theyre both the same

But Snape and Lily were so different, think they should still be together? Just because people think along the same lines doesn't make them a perfect couple.

When Ron asks harry about his wand in the end, it was just a question. Not life shattering, really.

what???

i wasnt talking about anything life shattering. im just merely stating that RON HAS A DIFFERENT TRAIN OF THOUGHT.

and the perfect copuple thing was a joke because i still prefer harry and luna and ron and hermione... i only meant that they would really get along together.

I was exagerating about the life shattering thing, lol. I didn't mean "life-shattering" literally. I just meant that he made a comment about whether or not Harry still preferred his old wand to the new one, since the new one did just help him defeat Voldemort. Of course I think he thinks differently from Hermione and Harry, but I think all three of them think uniquely, not split like that.

And Harry and Ginny belong together, so... so... get over it. *runs and hides*

well, boring people for boring people... ron and hermione make a more interesting couple.

but i must say, there was a point when i disagreed with harry and hermione and totally agreed with ron.

hermione was too narrow minded to accept the reality of the hallows.
harry was too obsessed with the hallows.
ron was the only one who recognized that the hallows may exist, but dumbledore meant for harry to get the horcruxes.

I know, Hermione and Harry started annoying me a bit, as well. She refused to admit that the Hallows could possibly be true, even as the pieces started falling together. And Harry did become too obsessed with them. He didn't seem to realize that the hallows would be no good unless the rest of the Horcruxes were destroyed first.

It goes back to all those times when he would make jokes... and his jokes would turn out to come true.

oh i think it normally goes that way...

hermione is right, ron is wrong.
but when ron is joking, he's right
and when hermione is emotional, she's wrong...
