how do you resize an animated avatar without making it stop

everytime i try to resize one it freeses and no longer is animated please help.

Open the image in Image Ready (it comes with Photoshop), in the top bar click ->Image->Image size, in the box you see make sure the 'constrain proportions' box is active and resize your image. After you clicked the OK button you go to File->save optimized, or save as and you're done.

If you don't have Image Ready then ask someone who does to resize it for you.
