I was just reading Chapter One of Quidditch Through the Ages and it says that when you transfigure into a certain animal you get it's brain, using the example of people who transfigure into a bat wanting to fly "are sure to forget where they want to go the moment they take flight."
So is it safe to assume in the wizarding world other animals are smarter than muggles believe? Like cats, dogs, rats etc. _________________

That doesn't really have anything to do with what I'm asking. _________________

I would think so. But does that also mean that a wizard changing into a bat is now too stupid/unaware to change back? _________________

That seems a little off from what is told to us in the books. It says that Sirius and James were able to keep control of Lupin if he ever tried to bite someone. A stag and a huge dog aren't going to be saving people, and a rat wouldn't be in the company of animals so much larger than it is. _________________ "If you're going through hell, keep going." |

^ It's just what it said in the book, I thought it was a bit off too. _________________
